Testimonials

The Iceland trip is spectacular. The itinerary is excellent with a great mix of history, culture and nature. Iceland is stunningly beautiful and our weather was fabulous! Inga is an excellent tour director and it was so special that she is Icelandic, though I would travel anywhere with her. Our group was terrific, with everyone supporting and encouraging each other. Being able to visit Akureyri and the north was special and so beautiful. An added bonus was seeing lots of puffins!
- Judy from New York

I had a great time with wonderful travel companions. Inga, our guide was fabulous. She was energetic, determined to show us a good time, kept telling us that the 90 mph wind was just a little breeze. Ha!! But I learned a lot about Iceland. What a beautiful country. Oh and the food--fabulous, every serving was a masterpiece of beauty and so good. Do they really eat that well all the time in Iceland? Inga also made sure that everything ran smoothly. I'd do again in a heartbeat. Thank you Sights and Souls.
Phylis from Idaho

Such a great group to travel with and a great tour guide. I'd travel with Inga again. Love Iceland and all it has to offer.
Cheryl from Florida

It was a wonderful and interesting trip. The diversity of the landscape was unmatched, the places we stayed were comfortable and well-located, and Inga, our guide, was professional, kind and encouraging. She taught us so much about the culture, history and way of life in Iceland and made the trip even more spectacular. Inga also emphasised Sisterhood and this is one of the best parts of Sights and Soul trips - meeting new friends, enjoying the company of fellow travellers and enjoying the journey. I can't wait to travel again with S&S!!!
- Terri from Michigan

I loved everything about the tour! The beautiful waterfalls were probably my favorite thing. Iceland is unlike anything I have experienced before, otherworldly, different landscapes at every turn. The food, activities and accommodations were excellent! It was interesting that there was a volcanic eruption while we were there.
- Debbie from Tennessee

This tour is amazing including the tour leader and all the exciting stops we made exploring Iceland. All the ladies on this tour were fantastic along with all the great adventures each and every day. Keep up the great work, Sights and Soul.

Margaret from California

Loved Reykjavik… Loved not moving hotels but once… loved the Fridheimar greenhouse… Glad we flew to Akureyri rather than drive… Horses were great also! Iceland is a unique destination and Sights and Soul did an excellent job of providing a complete and varied experience of the country.
Delora from North Carolina

I enjoyed everything about the Iceland tour. The scenery was gorgeous, the planned activities were fun & interesting, the local guide was extremely informative & professional, Renata was helpful, the women were friendly and fun, there was enough free time for individual interests, and the hotel had a convenient location with a very efficient staff. Thank you for the wonderful vacation!

Very well planned, smoothly executed trip, and a lot of fun: I have to say I haven’t laughed for a whole week in a long time.

Everything was so well organized and easy. The tour leader was low keyed, efficient and friendly, and the guide was fantastic: personable, knowledgeable and fun! Iceland is a wonderful country, it’s so peaceful, clean and welcoming, and the landscape is absolutely stunning. You didn’t have to think about anything, just enjoy.

Tour Director: Ingibjörg Jónasdóttir

Iceland is the land of surreal opposites: raging volcanoes and majestic glaciers, hot springs, and icy waterfalls. Much of the country is still taking shape, right before the eyes of visitors, as its raw, dramatic landscapes are born from volcanic eruptions and carved out by glaciers. On the other hand, there are parts of Iceland that have hardly changed since the first Viking settlers saw them more than 1,100 years ago. This breathtakingly beautiful island offers both exhilarating adventures amid the moss-covered lava fields, volcanoes and ice fields and the understated sophistication of the Nordic cities of Reykjavik and Akureyri. Traveling in Iceland, we will experience some of the world's most dramatic landscapes and geological wonders. From spectacular thundering waterfalls to boiling mud fields and steaming fissures, visiting here allows for a glimpse into the process of the Earth's formation, like no other place in the world. We'll likely fall in love with Iceland's pristine beauty, exciting geothermal activity, its wealth of bird and marine life, as well as its Viking legacy and stunning contemporary design.

With the Geysers and Glaciers Icelandic adventure, we'll embark on a voyage of adventure and discovery. We'll experience the astonishing beauty and geological marvels of this surreal country which arouse both reverence and awe. We'll be rewarded with an unforgettable journey into the land of the midnight sun and bright nights of song and dance in the crisp polar air. We'll explore this fascinating country with an experienced local guide, who will help us appreciate the endless shades of the Icelandic culture, scenery, geology, history, and adventures. At the day's end, we will enjoy the hip and funky Icelandic cities, as well as the delicious Nordic cuisine prepared with the freshest possible naturally grown ingredients and cutting-edge, designer shopping.

  • We'll spend 5 nights at an upscale Scandinavian design hotel in the center of Reykjavik, followed by 3 nights in Akureyri's Skald Hotel, a stylish and modern property located in the heart of the city on the main pedestrian street
  • We'll enjoy daily excursions visiting the classic Icelandic sights: glaciers, volcanoes, geysers, waterfalls, hot springs, thermal pools, black sand beaches, and beautiful, surreal landscapes.
  • We'll ride the Icelandic Viking horse and the Golden Circle tour, as we discover Iceland's most spectacular natural wonders.
  • We'll indulge in a mineral spa experience at the Fontana Spa and the Blue Lagoon.
  • We'll explore the stunning waterfalls, volcanoes, pseudo craters, colorful rock formations, and the geothermal fields in the Lake Myvatn area.
  • We'll visit Iceland's northernmost town of Husavik and enjoy the Whale Watching Safari.
  • We'll dine in fine restaurants on classic Nordic and contemporary Scandinavian cuisine based on the freshest, naturally grown ingredients.
  • We'll enjoy upscale shopping for designer fashion and housewares in both Reykjavik and Akureyri.
