Testimonials

The Switzerland tour was amazing: beautiful scenery, a great group of women, and a really well-organized itinerary. We stayed in centrally located hotels that made getting around easy, and the hotel in Wengen was especially memorable. It felt like classic Switzerland, with balconies looking out over the Alps, a mountain chic vibe, and delicious à la carte dinners each night. I also appreciated that the dinners weren’t super long, shorter menus were perfect for me. Some real highlights were the chocolate-making class (fun and delicious!), the incredible Alpine hikes and the excellent local guides, especially at Chillon Castle and through the Lavaux vineyards. The tours in Lucerne, Zurich, and Interlaken were also really well done. The hotel staff at all three places were incredibly kind and did everything they could to keep us comfortable, even during the crazy heat wave. The whole itinerary was clearly well thought out by the Sights and Soul team, and it covered so many classic Swiss experiences. It was also great to see two women in the group overcome their fear of heights

We had a great time. The tour was good from beginning to the end. The tour leader did a great job leading through many forms of transportation smoothly. Beautiful country and wonderful people.

The tour was fabulous.  The restaurants were delicious, the hotels were very very nice, and the sites and towns we toured were perfect.  And the views will be remembered for a life time.
- Ann from North Carolina

Highly, highly recommend. I never really heard people talk about traveling to Switzerland, and I was intrigued by all the activities on the S&S tour description. Now Switzerland is one of my all time favorite tours and I tell everyone to go there! I want to go back and do more hiking!
- Mary from Illinois

The tour of Switzerland was outstanding. Everything was handled professionally, efficiently, and held to a high standard. I enjoyed our Leader Marina and the group participants as much as the beautiful sights of Switzerland. I would not hesitate to travel again with Sights and Soul tours and have signed up for several trips in the coming year. I enjoyed every aspect of the tour -- the many train rides, the beautiful hotels, the great food--and the wonderful folks I traveled with. I look forward to my next trip with Sights and Soul Tours.

After my experiences in Switzerland, I am looking forward to continue with my traveling "around the world adventure" with Sights and Soul, definitely. Excellent quality, great taste choosing places and activities.... 100%.

I loved this tour with its myriad of transportation types. Loved taking the trains around the country vs being on a bus. Gondolas, cog rails, funiculars - what fun. Spending four days in Wengen was the best! It proved a perfect base for our activities in that area. Thank you for the Maya Caprice. The staff at that hotel was the best! And the views from the rooms could not be beat. All that beautiful scenery. I especially liked hiking the trails and soaking in all that beauty. The Glacier Express gave me a chance to experience the scenery at a slower pace vs watching it zip by past a bus window.
- Patricia from California

The tours I’ve taken with Sights and Soul Travels have been fantastic! The hotels are always more than comfortable and conveniently located. Transportation to everything you want to see is smooth and the tour director will quickly take care of any problems that may arise. On every tour I’ve taken, there are places and things I would never have thought to include. I’ve been on 5 tours and have 3 more booked, so obviously – I love this company!

This was my first tour with Sights and Soul Travel and the experience was wonderful. I will definitely be traveling with your group again.

Switzerland checks off all the boxes of an idyllic mountain vacation. It offers ravishing landscapes of green pastures, hiking trails, views of glacier-encrusted Alps, glittering lake shores, and pea-green vineyards, while the uber-cool Zurich and cosmopolitan Geneva give it a modern urban edge. Traveling through Switzerland is mapped by castles and terraced vineyards, new-wave restaurants and relaxed waterfront cafes with Alpine views, mountain chalets brightened with red geraniums, folk fairs, and the alp-horn concerts, while the celebration of gooey cheese, velvety chocolate, and air-dried meats provide a flavorful culinary background, spiced with the unexpected encounters with modern aesthetics, contemporary art and fresh-faced design. Beyond cheese, chocolate and cuckoo clocks, lies contemporary Switzerland, a land of four languages, once-in-a-lifetime train journeys, heart-racing Alpine pursuits, and tantalizing urban culture.

Defined by unspoiled, iconic mountain ranges with massive, snow-covered peaks reaching to the sky, azure lakes, Alpine meadows filled with rare flowers, sloping green hills sheltering medieval towns and castles, a sophisticated network of trains and cable cars, and of course cheese and chocolate, Switzerland is easy to love. This is a country of geologic and natural wonders, fresh mountain air, cows wandering freely in green pastures, and people adhering to old ways, yet embracing the newest technological achievements and doing their best to preserve the planet.

The Cool Switzerland Tour offers an intimate, in-depth encounter with the Swiss mountain wonderland, and it incorporates an amazing array of varied locations: Geneva, Wengen, Interlaken and the Bernese Alps, Lucerne, Zurich, Appenzell, castles, Alpine hikes, lake cruises, scenic drives and train journeys, cable cars to famous summits: Jungfrau, Schilthorn, Harder Kulm; chocolate making and tasting experience, chocolate and cheese tours, St. Gallen Baroque Abbey with a stunning library, each day is different and exciting.

  • While in Wengen, a car-free village in the Jungfrau region of the Bernese Alps, we'll take two easy mountain hikes, ride the mountain trains, cable cars, aerial gondolas and cogwheel trains to the Alpine summits of Jungfrau and Schilthorn.
