Cool Switzerland 1 - Accommodations
We'll spend the first 2 nights in Zurich at the Swiss classic Central Plaza Hotel. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Zurich, right on the banks of the River Limmat and steps away from the charming old town, cafe lined shopping streets, several museums and art galleries, the Opera House, the Schauspielhaus Theater and the main railway station. The hotel features two restaurants, a garden terrace, gym facilities, a piano bar and free WiFi throughout. The soundproof rooms are all outfitted with a flat screen TV, desk, safety deposit box, air conditioning, fridge and minibar, Nespresso coffee machine, mineral water and a complimentary umbrella. The private bathrooms come with both a shower and a bathtub, a hairdryer, and toiletries while slippers are available on request.
While in Bernese Oberland, we'll spend 4 nights in Wengen, at the boutique Hotel Maya Caprice. The elegant chalet-style Hotel Maya Caprice is located in the center of the car-free mountain village, just steps from the train station, the cable car and next to a wide network of hiking trails. The hotel features only 22 rooms with a cozy style and intimate atmosphere. The on-site restaurant serves high-end Swiss cuisine alongside majestic mountain views, the hotel has a comfortable lounge with a fireplace, a sun terrace, fitness center and a luxurious spa with a sauna. The spacious rooms, with balconies that overlook the Jungfrau Massif and Lauterbrunnen Valley, feature natural wooden décor and large windows, a flat-screen cable TV with a DVD player, a mini-bar, and a bathroom with a waterfall shower, bathrobes, slippers, toiletries and a hairdryer.
In Zermatt, we'll stay for 2 nights at the Parkhotel Beau Site, Zermatt. Set among the natural scenery of the picture-perfect Swiss Alps, the hotel has some of the best views of the iconic Matterhorn. The Parkhotel Beau Site is an oasis of peace, and the hotel's spa features a sauna, an indoor heated pool, 2 whirlpools, and offers numerous massages to help relax sore muscles after a day exploring in the mountains. The hotel's restaurant serves both traditional, locally sourced Swiss dishes and international cuisine, and the bar serves a wide selection of drinks. All rooms are designed for relaxation and inspiration, yet provide internationally oriented comfort and amenities from a wide selection of media services to the modern bathrooms featuring luxury toiletries, hairdryers, bathrobes and slippers. All rooms have a balcony or a terrace, or bay window, complimentary Wi-Fi, minibar and a safe.
In St. Moritz, we will spend 1 night at the traditional "mountain chic" Hotel Steffani. Located in the heart of St. Moritz, on the southern side of the Alps in the Engadine region of Switzerland, and surrounded by nature, mountains and lakes, the hotel has been proudly run by the same family for 4 generations. Hotel Steffani offers 3 restaurants, 3 bars, a hair and beauty salon and a spa with an indoor pool, sauna, steam bath and massage room. All 60 rooms are thoughtfully outfitted in the rustic, yet sophisticated style, and feature separate sitting areas, flat-screen TVs, premium bedding with down comforters and pillow menus, complimentary Wireless Internet, fridges with minibars and complementary bottled water. At the end of the journey, we'll spend 1 night at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Zurich Airport, with access to all terminals via a direct walkway and just a 2-minute walk from airport train station. The Radisson Blu Hotel at Zurich Airport features a restaurant with a garden terrace, as well as a sauna, steam bath, and fitness room. The Filini restaurant offers traditional Italian food with a modern twist, Angel’s Wine Tower Grill features an open kitchen, and the bar offers over 4,000 bottles of wine and champagne. The spacious and modern rooms provide free WiFi, an LCD TV, large soundproof windows with views of the airport or the atrium, air conditioning, a desk, a laptop safe, and a bathroom. Each bed comes from the European Ecolabel Elite brand, and every room includes a smartphone docking station. The modern, private bathrooms include a shower, upscale toiletries, bathrobes and slippers.
In the highly unlikely event that our original accommodations must be changed, the alternative accommodations will be a hotel of equal or higher standard. No change will be made to the cost of the tour.
