For decades I've traveled the world with family and friends. Now an older solo traveler, I've had mixed experiences with tour companies. Often the itinerary was exactly what I wanted, but the groups were mainly couples, families or friends. I'm grateful to the friend who recommended Sights & Soul. The tours include destinations on my bucket list, they are well organized with personable and knowledgeable tour directors and, for the most part, the fellow travelers are delightful. I'm looking forward to future trips with S&S.

Experiencing Norway’s breathtaking beauty exceeded expectations. From the delightful cities of Bergen and Oslo to the Fjords and mountains, to the friendly people who shared their pride in their country, and of course the snowy northern part of the world, it was a great tour.
- Jill from Wisconsin

Of my three S&S tours, this was my favorite. I absolutely LOVED Norway. And I loved being on the ship, not having to pack and unpack, and yet fantastic new views every day.
– Karen from New Hampshire
I thought the tour was a great experience. Norway was incredible, amazingly beautiful.
– Sarah from Vermont
The tour was great – loved the Snow Hotel, the city tours, my fellow sister-travelers, nighttime dogsledding, snowmobiling, and horseback riding. Anne was always excited to be with us and take group photos and offer options and advice.
- Risa from New Jersey
The February Norway tour was another amazing adventure. We saw Northern Lights, experienced dog sledding and riding Icelandic horses along the beach. The Fjords were magnificent and the scenery along the coast was beautiful. I am so glad I took this winter vacation with Sights and Soul, and Anne was a great tour leader!

Norway is a land of intense natural beauty which is hard to overstate, especially in winter, its signature season. Mountains of dizzying heights, deep fjords carved out by ice age glaciers, waterfalls cascading down mountainsides, and the awe-inspiring Northern Lights. Spectacular architecture, quaint, affluent cities and exciting local cuisine enhance the experience further. Norway’s natural wonders, dramatic and diverse, range from serene forest-covered hills in the southeast, spectacular fjords and glaciers in the west, and the Arctic wilderness in the north. The seals and eagles reign, the whales and fish patrol the deep fjords, and small villages sleep along the sides of each fjord. Norway’s dramatic landscapes, from fjords and alpine peaks to Arctic wilderness offer encounters with epic natural wonders, rich culture, and the everyday life of its people.
The Norway Winter adventure will awaken the explorer in you. We’ll journey through Norway from the historic, Hanseatic town of Bergen to the Northern Lights haven of Tromso, and finish in the country's sophisticated capital, Oslo.
Our journey begins in Bergen, where we’ll stay for three nights in the heart of this photogenic town. We’ll explore its colorful architecture, historic forts, and Hanseatic heritage, and experience the iconic Norway in a Nutshell journey: a combination of scenic train rides, including the Flåm Railway, and cruises along the majestic Aurlandsfjord and narrow Nærøyfjord, revealing some of Norway’s most breathtaking landscapes.
Next, we’ll visit the 1,110-year-old town of Trondheim, wandering its historic monastery, colorful wooden buildings along the Nidelva River, wharves, the striking red city bridge, and the magnificent Nidaros Cathedral. From Trondheim, we’ll fly to Tromso in Norwegian Lapland, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Lyngen Alps and the sacred Tromsdalstind peak. Here, we’ll spend four days playing in the snow, dog-sledding, riding reindeer, experiencing Sami culture, and chasing the Northern Lights in one of the world’s most magical winter landscapes.
The adventure will conclude in Oslo, where we’ll stay two nights at an upscale hotel in the city center. We’ll explore the cultural highlights of Norway’s sophisticated capital, including Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Fram Museum, and the National Museum ending our journey surrounded by the elegance and charm of this Nordic metropolis.
