The exotic beauty of Morocco is veiled in legend and romance. Edith Wharton captured its magic when she described it as a "land of mists and mysteries, trailing silver veils through which domes and minarets, mighty towers and ramparts of flushed stone, hot palm groves and Atlas snows, peer and disappear at the will of the Atlantic cloud-drifts."

With the Deserts and Oases Tour, you'll embark on the exotic and luxurious journey, explore the world of ancient cultural traditions and experience some of the most beautiful and dramatic scenery in the world: from the sun-kissed Atlantic beaches to the snow-covered peaks of the High Atlas Mountains, from classical Roman ruins to Alpine villages, from colorful souks to sophisticated boutiques, and from cinnamon-colored sand dunes of the Sahara to the rustling palm trees in the tranquil, lush oases. You'll enjoy private luxury riads, the magic of ancient kasbahs and a dreamy night at a Berber camp, under the stars of the Sahara. You'll camel trek in the desert, hike in the Todra Gorge, take a private cooking class, and explore the labyrinths of perfectly-preserved medieval cities.

HIGHLIGHTS: Imperial Cities of Rabat, Fez and Marrakech ● The Ancient Roman city of Volubilis ● The Mid Atlas and the High Atlas mountain ranges ● Sahara Desert on a camel caravan ● Staying at a luxury Berber camp in the Sahara ● Dramatic Todra Gorge ● A day with local women in the Valley of Roses ● Fantasia Berber performance in Marrakech ● An authentic Moroccan cooking class ● Vivacious and historical Marrakech ● Romantic riads and ancient kasbahs

Testimonials

I really enjoyed all 3 tours: wonderful guides, great food, everyone got along well, a memorable experience. So glad I did these 3 (Morocco, Spain, Portugal) in a row. In many cases, history just flowed and connected from one to the other. Marta, Kerry and Angela were all great tour leaders, each with a different personality and style of leading, but all equal in greatly enhancing their trip.
Andrea from Nevada

It was one of those “Pinch me, I can’t believe I’m here” moments.
Lou from Florida

I loved the cooking class and of course the camel ride into the sunset. But I simply loved the whole experience. Kind of magical. Thank you so much for another tour that was beyond my wildest dreams.
Renee from New York

Morocco was fantastic. We hit all the “must see” places & I loved every minute. I loved Fes! And Marta really cares about each person’s comfort and happiness and it shows!
Victoria from New Jersey

The trip to Morocco was just as wonderful as I expected it to be. The itinerary, the hotels, the group, and our wonderful guide, Renata, provided an experience I doubt anyone will forget.  My sincere thanks to you, S&S, and Renata for providing the trip of a lifetime to fourteen very lucky ladies.  Mohammed, also, was an excellent guide.
Martha from Caifornia

Itinerary – great, accommodations and meals – great, other travelers – fun. Absolutely incredible trip to an exotic and intriguing country.
Deb from Pennsylvania

As always, traveling with Sights and Soul is a wonderful, almost hassle-free way of experiencing new destination, as well as meeting new friends.
Denise from Indiana

Loved it! Learned so much about the culture, religion, and history. Great experience.
Laura from Tennessee

Thank you again for all the hard work you did to make this trip so special for me. I really appreciate all your planning and the execution of the trip.
Rebekah from California

I did have a great time. (I'm not just saying that...really) Thank you for providing an experience that showed us the contrasts of Moroccan life - the cities, the mountains, villages, the great Sahara and the valley.
Paula from Connecticut

What the Media Says About Us

A Soulful Women's Trip to Morocco
Traveling With The Ladies, No Men Allowed!

Ever since I caught the travel bug, Africa has been on my top destinations list. Although I have yet to visit any parts of the world’s second largest continent, many other women have traveled throughout the region with life-changing experiences. Morocco, in particular, offers a range of sights, smells, and taste within its vivid seaside cities and mountainous Sahara Desert. Rich in Arabic culture and history with beautiful mosques and people, there is no reason not to tour this country. Since 2004, Sightsandsoul.com has been offering luxury tours and vacations for women with destinations primarily in Europe, but also in South and North America and Africa. Yolanta Barnes, owner of Sights and Soul Travels, composes women-centered tours which embrace adventure and culture for those individuals seeking peer travel. more

Why travel with other women?
Many women do not have families or compatible friends who wish to travel. When going on a main-stream tour, women often find that most activities are geared towards couples and quite often they feel left out. Singles' tours are not always what women are looking for. If you do not have a traveling companion, there is also the issue of the expensive "single supplement", sometimes as much as 50 or even 100 percent of the tour cost. By going on women-only tours, women can easily avoid paying for the single supplement by sharing a room with another woman traveler.
