This tour starts at 5:00PM on Friday, October 16, 2026 in Melbourne.
Your flight should arrive no later than 2:00PM. Otherwise, we recommend arriving a day early.

Day 1: Melbourne - Arrivals

On your arrival at the Melbourne International Airport (MEL), you will be met by a Sights and Soul representative for your private transfer to our lovely hotel, located in the very center of Melbourne. After settling in and resting after your flight, we'll meet the rest of the group in the afternoon, and set out to explore Melbourne, the city considered to be one of the most liveable on Earth, with its magnificent architecture, beautiful gardens, a fascinating history, a great diversity of arts and culture, fine restaurants, and nightlife. Today, we'll get an overview of Melbourne, as we explore the bayside playground of St. Kilda with its expansive views and exotic buildings, stop for an iconic postcard photo with the colorful bathing boxes lining the foreshore of Brighton Beach before returning to central Melbourne via the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit circling the picturesque Albert Park Lake. We'll end the day with our welcome dinner at an elegant restaurant to enjoy our first taste of the amazing local food and fine Australian wines, as we get to know other travelers and share in the anticipation of our upcoming adventures.

Day 2: Melbourne

Today, we'll set out to explore Melbourne, the city that has it all: magnificent architecture, beautiful gardens, a fascinating history, a great diversity of arts and culture, fine restaurants, and nightlife. Our private guide will share with us the sights and experiences of the city considered to be one of the most livable on Earth, its history, and its cultural presence. We'll see the Old Treasury Building, the Parliament House, the Shrine of Remembrance, and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Victorian buildings nestling among the skyscrapers, intricate ironwork decorating the mansions testifying to the wealth of the city during the gold rush, city parks reflecting their British heritage, and the Royal Exhibition Building. We'll end the tour at the city's icon, the gold-plated Eureka Skydeck 88 on the South Bank of the Yarra River. After spending some time admiring the 360-degree views of Melbourne from the highest observation deck in the Southern Hemisphere, we'll celebrate the experience with lunch at a lively, contemporary city cafe.

Day 3: Great Ocean Road

This morning, we'll set out from the city to experience the majestic Great Ocean Road, one of the world's greatest coastal drives. As we follow the road that hugs the side of sheer cliffs, where the native bushland and eucalyptus forests meet the blue waters of Australia's spectacular coast, we'll experience some of the world's most inspiring scenery, watch out for whales, dolphins, echidnas, and bandicoots. We'll stroll along the wild beaches and stop for coffee at the striking Split Point Lighthouse to take in the awe-inspiring scenery. We'll experience the temperate Eucalyptus Forest, as we walk in the splendor of the giant rainforest trees, watching the kangaroos hopping alongside and visit the tranquil seaside town of Apollo Bay. This perfect day will be topped off with magnificent vistas and tragic romantic stories at the ancient rock formations of the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge.

Day 4: Melbourne to Cairns - Aboriginal Sunset Cruise

Today, we'll take a morning flight to Cairns, a relaxed tropical city, with lush rainforests, vibrant marine life, and easy access to the Great Barrier Reef. After some time to rest in our resort hotel, we'll meet in the afternoon to enjoy a one-of-a-kind sunset river cruise into the wetlands and mangrove forests of the East Trinity Reserve, guided by the Mandingalbay Yidjinji people. As dusk falls, we'll explore an Indigenous Protected Area where ancient knowledge and modern conservation come together, receive a traditional Welcome to Country, and learn about language, seasons, and living cultural practices. Light canapés and beverages will be served as we cruise back after sunset, taking in the mangroves and shimmering city lights for a truly unforgettable cultural experience. After returning to Cairns, we'll enjoy dinner along the waterfront with sweeping views of the Coral Sea.

Day 5: Great Barrier Reef

After breakfast today, we'll set out to spend the day on the Great Barrier Reef, as we set sail aboard a luxury catamaran for a memorable day in Michaelmas Cay’s unique reef environment. A low-lying vegetated sand cay encircled by a spectacular fringing reef, Michaelmas Cay is a National Park and a protected sanctuary for migratory seabirds. It is a major natural seabird habitat that is rich in sea life, with green sea turtles, mollusks, and hundreds of species of tropical reef fish including Humphead Maori Wrasse. During the cruise, we'll also have a chance to view the coral reef from the semi-submersible, listen to the ecological presentations by onboard Marine Biologists, and enjoy a tropical smorgasbord lunch. We can spend time snorkeling around the reef, take guided nature tours of the island and the bird sanctuary, or just relax and enjoy a leisurely day on the Great Barrier Reef.

Day 6: Daintree Dreaming

This morning, we'll set out to enjoy a private cultural experience that offers an intimate introduction to Aboriginal art, Dreamtime stories, and one of the world’s oldest living cultures. Our morning will begin at Janbal Gallery with a private art class led by Aboriginal artist, who will share with us stories of his culture and history as we learn traditional painting techniques and create our own canvas to take home. Traveling through the scenic Shannonvale Valley, we’ll learn about ancient Aboriginal pathways before enjoying a locally inspired lunch at the Mayi Café at Mossman Gorge. In the afternoon, we’ll take part in a traditional Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony, followed by a guided walk through the rainforest of Mossman Gorge, learning how the Kuku Yalanji people have lived in harmony with this environment for thousands of years. After time to browse the Mossman Gorge Centre gallery and shop, we'll return to Cairns in the late afternoon.

Day 7: Kuranda SkyRail - Koala Gardens - Scenic Railway

Today, we’ll enjoy a classic rainforest experience combining soaring views, wildlife encounters, and one of Australia’s most scenic rail journeys. We'll begin with a Skyrail Rainforest Cableway journey from Kuranda to Barron Falls, disembarking along the way to explore interpretive displays at the Rainforest Interpretation Centre and take in spectacular views of the Barron Falls from a series of lookouts to watch the vibrant splashes of the electric blue Ulysses butterflies dancing through a million shades of green of the canopy, accompanied by a chorus of calls from the native Cockatoos. Back in Kuranda Village, we'll visit the Koala Gardens, Birdworld, and the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, offering close encounters with koalas, kangaroos, cassowaries, and more than 1,500 native butterflies. After free time to explore the village, we'll return to Cairns, in style aboard the historic Gold Class Kuranda Scenic Railway, traveling through lush rainforest, deep ravines, and cascading waterfalls, as we enjoy locally sourced refreshments during this iconic rail journey. After all this excitement, we’ll gather in the evening to enjoy dinner showcasing creative Australian cuisine.

Day 8: Cairns to Sydney - M/V Sydney 2000 dinner cruise

After breakfast, we'll check out of our hotel and transfer to Cairns Airport for our flight to Sydney. This is Australia's iconic city, with a vibrant harbor, iconic landmarks, such as the Sydney Opera House, golden beaches, and a dynamic cultural scene which blend seamlessly with waterfront neighborhoods, world-class dining, and a relaxed yet cosmopolitan lifestyle. After checking into our hotel and some time to settle in and rest, we'll board M/V Sydney 2000, to enjoy a signature Sydney dining experience of the Penfold's Gold Dinner of a 6 course degustation menu paired with vintage Australian wines, and accompanied by live music and the million-dollar views of Sydney Harbour by night.

Day 9: Sydney City Tour - Sydney Opera House

Today, we’ll enjoy an immersive, intimate journey revealing the Story of Sydney, as we discover the stories, neighborhoods, and natural beauty that define this dynamic harbor city. Our private touring experience will begin in The Rocks, the birthplace of the nation, then through historic districts and stylish suburbs that offer insight into everyday Sydney life. Along the way, we'll stop at iconic landmarks, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair, we'll take the scenic coastal walk from Bondi Beach to Bronte, and we'll enjoy the village atmosphere of Woollahra and Paddington. This experience will offer us a genuine connection to Sydney’s culture, landscape, and rhythm of life. In the afternoon, after some free time for lunch, we'll make our way to the Sydney Opera House for a private, guided behind-the-scenes experience, as we step beneath the iconic sails of this World Heritage masterpiece, exploring its remarkable architecture, inspired performance spaces, and the stories that bring this global symbol to life.

Day 10: Australia's Blue Mountains

This morning, we'll set out for a full-day nature experience that blends wildlife, dramatic landscapes, and quaint mountain villages. From Sydney, we'll travel west, crossing the Parramatta River, before arriving at Featherdale Wildlife Park, home to native Australian animals, where we'll come face to face with kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and other iconic species, offering a wonderful overview of Australia’s unique wildlife. Then, we'll continue into the heart of Blue Mountains, where at Scenic World, we'll descend into the Jamison Valley aboard the world’s steepest railway, then we'll take a peaceful walk through the rainforest, before ascending by cable car, with sweeping views of the valley, Three Sisters Mountain Range, and cascading waterfalls. After lunch in Katoomba, we continue to the delightful village of Leura, filled with galleries and boutique shops inviting leisurely exploration. After returning to Sydney in the afternoon, we'll end the day with our farewell dinner, a fine dining experience at Infinity by Mark Best at the 81st floor of Sydney Tower, offering panoramic revolving views of the the Sydney city skyline and harbor.

Day 11: Departures

After breakfast, depending on your flight's departure time, you may have some free time for individual exploration of the city, before your private transfer to Sydney airport according to your flight departure time.
