Day 2: Flight to Victoria Falls

After breakfast, we'll transfer to the Johannesburg Airport in time for our scheduled flight to Victoria Falls. On arrival at the Victoria Falls Airport, we'll be met by our guide and transferred to our hotel. The Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is set high on a plateau, which forms a natural boundary to the unfenced Zambezi National Park, and is just minutes from the majestic Victoria Falls. Created with a keen eye for detail: hardwoods, thatch, and vibrant African colors, it creates an awe inspiring effect. Each bedroom has its own balcony, air-conditioning and modern bathroom. In the Buffalo Bar, Makuwa-Kuwa Restaurant and pool deck, we'll enjoy not only the wonderful views, but also excellent service from friendly Zimbabwean staff. An on-site waterhole attracts a wide variety of game, including elephant, buffalo, impala and kudu which can be viewed from each balcony. Partially open to the African skies and sheltered by the indigenous Gusu forest is the award winning Boma restaurant. It offers a unique African experience that bombards the senses with the tastes, sights, sounds and smells of Africa, coupled with the warmth and hospitality of the local people. Styled in the traditional manner, the thatched boma has an open fire to enhance the vibrant atmosphere. Our traditional Boma dinner this evening will include African entertainment, dancing and drumming practice.

This walking safari will take us through the spectacular rainforest where we'll be able to view the Victoria Falls in all their magnificence: the cataracts, Livingstone's statue and a wide variety of birds and plants. After some free time in the afternoon, to enjoy shopping for local crafts or lunch at the "Old Africa" Victoria Falls Hotel, we'll meet again in the afternoon to complete the day with a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River to enjoy sundowner drinks, as we watch numerous hippos and crocodiles close to the boat and the memorable spectacle of the African setting sun.

Day 4: Transfer to Kasane - Boat Cruise on the Chobe River

Today, after we check out from the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, we'll take a short drive to our lodge in the Chobe National Park in Botswana, the gateway to a truly unique African wildlife experience. The lodge is ideally situated at the entrance to Chobe, yet it offers every comfort for our sojourn in the wilds of Africa. The architecture is Moorish and graceful - high arches, barrel-vault ceilings and tiled floors create an atmosphere of spaciousness and tranquility. All rooms are tastefully furnished with hand crafted, Rhodesian teak furniture and decorated with original African carvings and paintings. The overhead punkah-punkah fans complete the nostalgic ambiance of an Africa of yesteryear. All rooms have their own private terrace, are fully air-conditioned and have private bathrooms. The property has a swimming pool, squash court, restaurant and bar, spa, Internet access and a gift shop. After lunch, we'll enjoy a boat safari on the Chobe River, as we listen to the chorus of the hippopotamus lounging in the river. We'll see many hippo and elephant families, as well as other wildlife as they come down to the river to drink and bathe at sunset. A cruise by riverboat is a game drive with a difference, and an experience not to be missed. In the evening, we'll enjoy a lavish dinner at the lodge.

Why travel with other women?
Many women do not have families or compatible friends who wish to travel. When going on a main-stream tour, women often find that most activities are geared towards couples and quite often they feel left out. Singles' tours are not always what women are looking for. If you do not have a traveling companion, there is also the issue of the expensive "single supplement", sometimes as much as 50 or even 100 percent of the tour cost. By going on women-only tours, women can easily avoid paying for the single supplement by sharing a room with another woman traveler.
