South Africa is one of those destinations that dreams are made of: surreal mountain landscapes and sublime seascapes, world-class wildlife safaris, luxurious jungle lodges, cultural vivacity and history of the people, cosmopolitan cities and isolated Zulu and Shangaan villages, topped with the excellent South African wines and innovative cuisine. With an immensely varied terrain and a rich natural diversity, South Africa offers a wide range of experiences and is a delight for all senses. We know that this tour will become a highlight of your life.

During our South African adventure, we will spend 6 days in a modern designer hotel on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town, taking in the vibrant city of Cape Town and the magnificent area that surrounds it. We will explore the Cape of Good Hope, where the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans meet, walk on the Boulder Beach among the colonies of African penguins, take the cable car to Table Mountain and hike to beautiful vistas overlooking the city. We will also tour the vineyards in the South African Winelands region with its renowned wineries and wine estates, see the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens to walk on carpets of exotic flowers, take a Malay cooking class and stroll in quaint fishing villages and towns with the impressive Cape Dutch architecture.

The most memorable part of the tour will be the 4 days spent on an African safari at the luxurious, yet authentic Kapama Private Game Reserve, part of the Kruger National Park ecosystem. Here, we'll experience the true magic of Africa, as we enjoy two daily game drives (safaris) to view the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino), bush walks and many other optional activities.

  • While in Cape Town, we will take private, in-depth tours of the city, take the cable car up to Table Mountain, visit the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, enjoy a scenic ride and hiking in the Cape of Good Hope, the Boulder Beach with its colonies of African penguins, we'll enjoy a Winelands tour with visits to Franschhoek and Stellenbosch vineyards, as well as Cape Town's colorful neighborhoods, special meals and designer shopping. I have been internet following several tour groups for women over the past few years. Sights and Soul always came to the top of my list to try. I felt that she sincerely wanted me (and every person in our group) to gain experiences that would appeal to my sense of travel curiosity and adventure. The S&S Africa trip was an adventure of a lifetime!  The word that came to mind daily was "awesome" and it really did not describe all the great things we did and saw up close!!!  Cape Town, Kapama Southern Camp and Victoria Falls...they were all wonderful. Deon, our Cape Town guide was the best ever.  Betheul, my Kapama Ranger, was great at telling stories and he taught us so much about the animals.  We saw them all!  It was an amazing experience. Victoria Falls and our sunset cruise down the Zambezi River was a nice end to an amazing adventure!  The hippo family was great to see.  I will be talking about this trip for years to come.  Great job Yolanta!  Sights and Soul continues to be my first choice when I'm looking for a great destination and well planned itinerary. - Suzanne from Virginia

I am back at home, jetlagged and trying to catch up, but with a jeep load of wonderful memories. Thank you to you and your wonderful travel company for the trip of a lifetime. I appreciated your organization and attention to detail, which kept things running very smoothly. - Marina from Newfoundland, Canada

What the Media Says About Us

Women-Only South African Safari Tours
One of the most striking trends in the travel industry in recent years has been a dramatic increase in the number of women-only tours. While some tours are run by large companies seeking to take advantage of this trend, the most popular are run by small companies run by and for women with years of experience in the field. And while many women-only tours focus on conventional sight-seeing, shopping and spas, more and more are adding a greater element of adventure in the jungles of the Amazon or the savannahs of South Africa. more

Why travel with other women?
Many women do not have families or compatible friends who wish to travel. When going on a main-stream tour, women often find that most activities are geared towards couples and quite often they feel left out. Singles' tours are not always what women are looking for. If you do not have a traveling companion, there is also the issue of the expensive "single supplement", sometimes as much as 50 or even 100 percent of the tour cost. By going on women-only tours, women can easily avoid paying for the single supplement by sharing a room with another woman traveler.
