WHITE NIGHTS IN ST. PETERSBURG

TOUR OVERVIEW

Thank you for making this journey a meaningful experience for me; for putting together a great group of women; and for giving us such a rich itinerary.

Lita from Ontario

In June St. Petersburg is at its most beautiful. You will be visiting the city of the tsars during the most enchanting time of the White Nights, when a short twilight is followed by a new morning.

You will experience the magnificent art, the dramatic history and the exquisite music and ballet that has always been associated with St. Petersburg. You will join a private guide to tour the Hermitage, Catherine the Great's Summer Palace, the legendary Amber Room, the mysterious Nevsky Monastery, the opulent palaces of Peterhof and Yusupov and the golden domed cathedrals. You will be invited to be a dinner guest at a private Russian home, attend an opera or ballet at Mariinsky Theatre (former Kirov), enjoy a Russian folk dance show and a caviar and vodka reception. As you explore the city of Peter the Great, Dostoevsky and Barishnikov, you will not only create lifetime memories, but also friendships with other, like-minded women travelers.

  • Spend 7 days/6 nights in a delightful boutique hotel in the center of St. Petersburg;
  • Enjoy the city of Dostoevsky, Rachmaninoff and the Romanovs with a passionate, knowledgeable local guide;
  • Explore the history of art at incomparable Hermitage Art Museum, see the multi-colored onion domes of Russian Orthodox cathedrals, then stroll along the canals and waterside promenades in some of the most beautiful citiscapes in Europe;
  • Cruise St. Petersburg canals during the everlasting twilight and see the grand architecture from a tsar boatman's perspective;
  • Spend a full day among the historical riches of the imperial Catherine's Summer Palace at Tsarskoye Selo, the royal country residence of the tsars from Peter the Great to Nicholas II, the last Romanov ruler;
  • Visit Peterhof and admire the Grand Cascade's symphony of fountains;
  • Enjoy an opera or ballet performance at Mariinsky Theatre (Kirov);
  • Gain the appreciation for Russian art since the 7th century at the Russian Museum during a private tour of the collection;
  • Sample the best Russian caviar and vodka;
  • Visit Yusupov Palace and learn about the mysteries surrounding the murder of Rasputin;
  • Attend a folklore dance performance at the Nikolaevsky Palace.
